CADENAS Interface

We are pleased to announce a new project collaboration with CADENAS, the largest external library of 3D standard components available on the market - CADENAS PARTsolutions has over 500 library suppliers, covering thousands of components for multiple market sectors. The integration of CADENAS PARTsolutions into VISI17 will enable users to shorten design times by providing access to readily available standard components for their mould / die assemblies.

Two levels of integration are available. The first level will be access to on-line catalogues via the CADENAS PARTserver portal. Catalogues are continually updated and can be downloaded directly from the internet in a number of CAD formats including a new native VISI *.CVF format. The second level is a direct plug-in for VISI and requires a licensed installation of PARTsolutions on the host machine. In this case, the selected library component is immediately available and loaded directly into the current CAD session.

Shrinkage

This command has been completely revised for VISI 17. It now shares the vast VISI Flow material database (over 8,000 materials) and attaches the material properties to the geometry in preparation for flow simulation.

Importantly, the part information, material description and supplier fields are automatically loaded into Assembly Manager for B.O.M generation.

Runners

The Runners application has been restyled and improved for VISI 17 by integrating flow properties with the runner system in preparation for flow simulation. Similar to the old procedure for runner tracing, it is now possible to start from the injection point with every solid produced containing embedded VISI Flow properties, ready for moulding simulation.

Within the new GUI it is possible to define the runner path, section shape (circular, semi-circular, triangular & trapezoid), gate type (conic, rectangle, angular conic / rectangle & banana) and injection cone parameters.

Custom Mould Tool

It is now possible to create a custom tool from within the tool build manager.

Standard Component Libraries

As with every major release, the standard component libraries have been further developed with over 50 builder components added and over 20 catalogues updated.
