Feature Recognition

We have added the ability to recognise complex and simple holes on surface models, providing the ability to select both solid & surface bodies at the same time for feature recognition. The feature recognition has also been extended to recognise features from a predefined direction, and find features within the defined region.

Manual feature now supports fillet detection. This function is very useful in cases where the selected face has perimeter fillets. The system automatically detects the fillet radius, and consequently extends the face in such a way to create the correct feature data.

Incremental Stock

Piece & Stock Management

Stock : The stock management has been updated to include the ability to define the stock model by “offset”, by “bounding box” and from extrusion. Incremental stock is a new development adding the ability to create a dynamic stock model from any selected operations providing live feedback of remaining stock removal.

Piece : It is possible to automatically fill any type of hole in the geometry using a new “fill holes” command. At the end of the process the system will automatically add the hole filling features to the model list. A new “Convert piece in to mesh” command has been added that allows the user to automatically convert the piece models into a mesh, using the programmed tolerances.

Compass Technology

Compass Technology has been further developed to include the ability to set a CAM attributes in relation to face colour, the ability to display association matching rules by feature, the ability to support residual profiles in the compass configurations and the ability to manage the “opposite” working direction for milling operations.

Passes & Linking

We have added the possibility to build the passes and the linking separately which will dramatically reduce the calculation time and allow the user to inspect the toolpath quality before building the linking movements. The build “only passes” management is available from a different menu from where it is also possible to display the passes within the “Toolpath laboratory”.

Toolpath Auto-Tilting

We have added a new module that allows the user to automatically tilt the tool to avoid potential collisions between the tool holder and the model. The result is a 3 to 5 axis converted toolpath.

Duplicate Operations

Duplicate Operations

We have extended this command to allow the duplication of multiple operations at the same time on more than one CAM-setup

CAM Setup

We have added the functionality to automatically update the X and Y orientation when virtual plane options and/or the NC machine changes.

Group Operations

We have added the functionality to create groups of operations to improve operation sorting

3D Finishing

We have added the stock and rest machining management to all 3D finishing operations

Post Processing

We have added some new variables and included sub-program management for duplicated operation, a useful addition for production machining.

Vero Tools

Vero tools has been updated to version 2.0. The most important improvements are:

  • Tool crib editing window: We have added the possibility to edit tools and assemblies directly from this window. There are also improvements to tool numbering
  • General Tool list window: We have added a new column to indicate if a tool is used in a crib.
