Combined Feature Recognition
A massive step forward in the recognition of machinable forms has been done developed for VISI16. It is now possible to recognise prismatic forms such as : pocket, open pocket, irregular pocket, ob-round pocket, bosses, irregular bosses and ob-round bosses. Combined with an improved MFR, VISI provides tools that allow you to recognise nearly all machinable features within a moulding plate.
Compass Technology

This is the most interesting CAM technology introduced in this release. The compass technology in principle has the ability to identify a feature (automatic or manual), and recognise its characteristics, choose a valid operation cycle and automatically adapt the parameters or each operations in the selected cycle to better optimise the calculation and result performance based upon the geometry type.

This technology is capable of providing complete CAM automation.
Piece Management

Release 16 introduces a new piece management with a number of useful options such as : ability to organise the faces by type, ability to associate different meshing tolerances to different types of face, ability to disable/enable faces from the overall meshing. All the above improvements reduce memory waste and increase the overall calculation speed.
