Flange Unfolding
Based upon a FEA engine, VISI 16 now provides the ability to develop non-linear bends. There are multiple ways to unfold a bend with different levels of user interaction. It is possible to develop a bend based upon either : a collection of fillet surfaces, a collection of geometry edges or using a binder surface when the user requires a specific unfolding shape. This new technology greatly increases the geometrical complexity of 3D models that can be developed using VISI Progress.
Multislides

VISI 16 now manages the definition of multislide machines (ex Bihler). For small part production, but with a very high production speed (100-150 pieces per minute), a different process is often used that differs from a normal progressive die. This new process uses a collection of fingers, each moved by a cam and each synchronised to perform a separate forming operation.

VISI Progress can calculate the shape of every cam, optimise the complete cycle and verify the synchronisation. Each action is controlled by an interactive synchronisation table.
