Model Preparation Simplification / Mesh consolidation

The model preparation has been simplified and made more consistent by incorporating all the CAD operations on triangle meshes (before available through the Flow Modeller) plus brand new powerful cleanup and checking tools into the generic Mesh menu.

The main dialog boxes for both Modelling and Analysis have been reviewed and simplified.

Moulding Analysis

Analysis suggestions based on part quality

Analysis suggestions, based on part quality, are available to improve the filling process. Importantly, possible remedies for each critical area are indicated. A colour 'rainbow' chart will break down the moulding conditions such as Pressure, Temperature, Shear stress, Frozen skin etc into clear quality catagories such as Easy, Acceptable, Difficult, Not Advisable and Excessive.

Importantly, moulding suggestions are provided to assists the operator such as reducing the injection speed or increasing the moulding temperature.

Graphics - Transparent mesh

The new display of results with a transparent mesh provides the ability to look inside the model to better understand the filling of the part.

A graphical section can now be cut through the analysis result presenting filling field variables such as the displayed temperature.

Result Calculation improvements

Many technological aspects have been reviewed to increase the precision of the relevant calculations. For example, the filling analyses have benefited from the improved flow balancing and the fine tuning of melt compressibility at end of the filling phase.

Holding Analysis improvements

Holding analysis enhancements are mainly related to the fine tuning of pressure fluctuation length while a new variable (Solid fraction) has been introduced to better estimate the time for part ejection.

Thermal Analysis improvements

The thermal analysis module has been enhanced to remove any restriction to the number of circuits, channels, etc., hence increasing the calculation precision and the quality of the result visualization.

The new circuit management includes the automatic setup of cooling circuits, the possibility to run calculations with only selected cooling lines and the ability to specify different fluids through the circuit layout.
